

Using the above tool, it would be trivial to create really neat-looking maps akin to, for example, the city maps in the World of Darkness sourcebooks. I've used this tool to create a map of Hong Kong for a gangster Shadowrun campaign and a "world" map for a post-apocalyptic setting.

From there, you can edit the colors in whatever way you please and add street names, labels, etc. Just set roads and ground to two widely different colors, print screen and paste into photoshop. What this allows you to do, is get a map of any city on the planet, without the street names. If it's the former, I can't strictly speaking help you generate a map, but I can recommend a nifty tool that allows you to customize what layers of Google Maps you want to include.
